Job Description

This is a genuine career opportunity for a Dental Therapist who wants to work at the top of their scope in a practice that is built around the therapist-led model. Based in Middlesbrough centre five minutes from the train station with easy nearby parking, this eight-surgery practice puts therapists at the heart of patient care.

You'll be working with a full direct access remit, managing your own patient list, and supported by a principal who genuinely values the therapist role. With a UDHA rate of £11–£12.50 and a 40% private split, this is a well-rewarded position with room to grow as the practice actively expands its private offering.

What's on Offer
  • £11–£12.50 per UDA - self-employed basis
  • 40% private earnings split
  • 50/50 lab bills
  • Full direct access - manage your own patient caseload with clinical autonomy
  • Full-time or 4 days considered
  • OPG, digital X-rays in each surgery, rotary endo, and intraoral scanner on site
  • City-centre location — five minutes from Middlesbrough station, buses, and easy parking
Who We're Looking For
  • GDC registration as a Dental Therapist — mandatory
  • NHS Performer Number — mandatory
  • Direct access qualification and experience — mandatory
  • A therapist who is confident, self-motivated, and well-presented
  • Someone who takes pride in their clinical skill set and wants to work at the top of their scope
  • A team player with a professional, approachable manner — this is a close-knit clinical team
  • Full working rights - sponsorship is not available for this role
  • Ability to work full-time or 4 days per week
About the Practice
  • 8-surgery, city-centre practice - Victorian building with high ceilings, large windows, brand-new chairs, and a light-filled working environment
  • Therapist-led model - therapists run the majority of patient consultations and are central to how the practice operates
  • Dentally software used practice-wide, with a mix of trained and trainee nurses
  • 90–95% NHS currently, with a clear and active plan to grow private — late evenings being introduced
  • New ownership - a hands-on principal invested in building the right team for the long term
  • Still accepting new NHS patients, with a stable inherited list already in place
  • A growing team - currently three therapists, with this role being a key part of the next phase of development
If you want a role where your skills are genuinely valued and your diary is full, this is worth a conversation.
